Above is the admin dashboard of the community management platform I designed for Bizzly. The goal for this project was to develop software that fit in the space between Slack and Discord, enabling the user to own their audience and aggregate, organize, and personalize content.

Above is the homepage of the D3 website redesign. The goal for this project was to achieve a more polished, elegant look in order to attract a wider audience.

Above is the BeeZr website redesign, optimized for mobile. The goal for this project was to increase website usability and reduce user fatigue, since users were required to access menus via mobile device.

Experience Summary

Since my UX career is still burgeoning, the majority of my experience has been via graduate projects. However, unlike the traditional grad school path, I held a full time position as a UX Designer while in school, and most of my projects were designed to specifically benefit my place of work, BeeZr - a Small Business Collective. After completing the class requirements, I implemented each project and studied the effects. As a result, BeeZr has thrived since opening in January 2021, and quickly established itself as a go-to spot and satisfied regular customers due to an increased focus on the CX (described in the figure below). The following pages detail my experience with various UX projects for BeeZr in addition to a few other companies. I currently have almost 2 years of experience as a UX Designer and no intention of slowing down! I have a natural knack for research, an obsession with UI design, and a passion for figuring out how to make people's experiences more delightful in general. One area of UX/UI design I hope to learn more about is the video game industry! Ever since I was little, I have had a strong passion for gaming and my dream is to one day work on my own game or alongside some of my existing favorites.

Why is User Experience So Important?

Above is a graphic I made when presenting the importance of understanding the customer experience at BeeZr to the BeeZr executives. No matter how good the product being sold is, if a person has a bad experience, they will likely not return. Customer Service has been established as an important role for years...but it wasn't until the emergence of UX that we started actually researching customers to more fully understand their experiences when interacting with different products. As of 2021, Gartner Inc. found that 73% of companies consider CX to be a top priority...but only 1% of them actually deliver an excellent experience because it's much harder to achieve than you realize. It requires company-wide commitment with a cultural shift in how the company operates. Although the ROI might be difficult to project, research into years of trends indicates CX improvement often results in growing customer loyalty (therefore customer base overall AND Word of Mouth Marketing, which is the strongest form of Marketing yet also the hardest to generate). The boost in customer satisfaction/ loyalty has beneficial effects that trickle down to other areas as well. Happier customers typically result in happier workers, and when a company can maintain this balance, there is often improvement in stock performance to follow. If you would like to know more about how UX/CX can improve your company, send me a email and let's talk!
